Sure, there’ll be snow on the river banks and in the Aharbal village, but you’ll still see water rushing through the gorge.
If you’re planning to visit Aharbal in winter, the journey remains the same as I explained earlier. But, it’s smart to check the road conditions before leaving Srinagar. Heavy snowfall can sometimes close the roads.
Typically, the road up to Kulgam is open all year. However, during January and February, if there’s heavy snowfall, getting to Aharbal from Shopian or Kulgam might be difficult.
